What the birds were chirping from the roof is now apparently official. According to several sources on Twitter, Wim Fissette will join Naomi Osaka (WTA 3) at the start of the 2020 season. The Japanese should strive to work with the former coach of Angelique Kerber. According to the New York Times' renowned tennis journalist Ben Rothenberg, the management of the 22-year-olds has already confirmed the agreement. /

The two-time Grand Slam winner had separated from the German coach at the beginning of 2019 only shortly after her victory at the Australian Open. Just as she left the US Open in September, the Asian also separated from her successor Jermaine Jenkins a few weeks later.

Fissette had once led Kerber to her Wimbledon title in 2018. Previously, the 39-year-old Belgian had looked after Sabine Lisicki, Simona Halep, Victoria Azarenka, Sara Errani and Johanna Konta.
