WTA Prague: Laura Siegemund moves into the round of 16 late
Fed Cup player Laura Siegemund (Metzingen) made it to the round of 16 late at the WTA tournament in Prague.

The 32-year-old won the first round game against Mayar Sherif (Egypt), which was canceled on Tuesday evening due to darkness, on Wednesday 4: 6, 6: 0, 6: 1.
When he resumed, Siegemund led 4-0 in the second set. In the round of the last 16 Siegemund meets the Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo.
Last week Siegemund played her first WTA tournament after a five-month Corona break in Palermo. In the last sixteen she was eliminated against fourth-placed Estonian Anett Kontaveit.
Meanwhile, Petra Martic, who was in second position, was eliminated in round 2. She lost to Kristyna Pliskova with 1: 6 and 5: 7.
