Keys beat Daria Kasatkina 6-4, 6-3 - overcoming a 4-0 deficit in the first half; Aryna Sabalenka also turned her match in 1: 6, 6: 3, 6: 2 against Sloane Stephens. She had barely found the court in the first set. An important victory for the Belarusian, also in view of the upcoming WTA Finals: She is 7th in the current race.

Kasatkina, currently No. 6, missed out on qualifying for Fort Worth .

Iga Swiatek, Ons Jabeur and Jessica Pegula are already qualified for the WTA end-of-year tournament, behind them Cori Gauff has the best prospects - especially since she celebrated an important win in the night with 6: 4, 4: 6, 6: 3 against Bianca Andreescu.

Also clearly ahead: Paula Badosa, second seeded, after a 6-0. 6: 3 over qualifier Louisa Chirico.

Iga Swiatek now has 61 wins in 2022

The top seeded Iga Swiatek had already won on the evening of German time - but had great difficulty in the 6: 4, 4: 6, 6: 1 over Qinwen Zheng. Swiatek now meets Gauff.

Swiatek now has 61 wins in the current year. Caroline Wozniacki last managed that many in her 2017 season. Of course, Swiatek can go even further.
