The best tennis players in the world could return to Hamburg's Rothenbaum this summer. This was confirmed by national coach Barbara Rittner on Thursday at Eurosport. Accordingly, Sandra and Peter-Michael Reichel, who are already organizing the men's tournament in Hamburg, have acquired the tournament license from the Baltic Open, which has so far been held in Latvia. The Hamburger Abendblatt reported on it first.
"The wish is that you either play parallel to the men's tournament or the week before - maybe even in 2021, if you can," said Rittner. Whether the tournament can take place this summer also depends on the development of the corona pandemic. By 2002 Hamburg had already hosted a WTA tournament.
