WTA world ranking: Australian Open winner Kenin in the top 10 for the first time

Thanks to her victory at the Australian Open, Sofia Kenin has made it into the top 10 in the world for the first time. It also went up for Belinda Bencic.

Kenin made up eight places and was ranked 7th in the world this week - making her the best American before Serena Williams on 9th.

Ashleigh Barty continues to lead, followed by Simona Halep and Karolina Pliskova, who swapped places. Elina Svitolina is fourth.

With a new high ranking: Belinda Bencic, which is ranked number 5 in the world for the first time. For the winner from 2019, Naomi Osaka, on the other hand, it went down six places to 10th. Melbourne finalist and ex-number 1 Garbine Muguruza caught up 16 places and is 16.

Kerber is the best German

Angelique Kerber is in 20th place, Julia Görges has improved by eight ranks and is now the 31st surprise quarter-finalist Ons Jabeur has broken the top 50 for the first time. For youngster Cori Gauff, now 51st in the world, this should also only be a question of Be time.

From the German perspective still among the top 100: Laura Siegemund (73.), Andrea Petkovic (80.), Tatjana Maria (91.).

Barbara Haas is currently the best in Austria with 139th place.
