Sure: In the coming season, the tennis world will primarily be concerned with who has the lead in the race for the most major titles. At the moment, that's Rafael Nadal at 22, one championship more than Novak Djokovic. If the season goes really well, both could also reach the 100 title mark. Nadal holds at 92, Djokovic at 91.
Nobody will advance into these spheres so quickly. That doesn't mean that smaller milestones can't be reached.
- Let's start with Alexander Zverev: The comebacker holds 19 titles on the ATP tour. He did the last one in 2021 at the ATP Finals. No doubt: If Zverev is fully fit again, the 20 mark will fall in the coming year.
- Incidentally, Dominic Thiem has 17 titles on the credit side. Who knows: maybe the comeback will really pick up speed.
- Stefanos Tsitsipas wants to finally get double digits in the championship category. And: The Greek's next match win will be number 250, with a similarly successful season as in 2022, Tsitsipas could even reach 300.
- Matteo Berrettini needs three more tournament wins to reach ten. This year the Italian won in Stuttgart and in the Queen's Club. And on the other hand was injured for weeks. There could be more in 2023.
