The three-time Grand Slam winner wants to try to live even more in the "here and now" and not be mentally at the next appointment. "I think we should take that with us," said Kerber, whose life in the past few weeks has suddenly looked completely different from what she is used to.

Instead of being constantly on the move and traveling from tournament to tournament, Kerber tidied up her cupboards, discovered cooking for herself and sought to chat with her friends via video chat. "You got a lot more patience," she said: "I have become much more relaxed in time. I sit there, listen and can take it much better than a few weeks ago."

Nevertheless, Kerber is happy when everyday life returns to normal step by step and she can train in the usual manner. It will take some time before their first matches on the WTA tour. No tournaments are scheduled until July 31st.
