Djokovic beat Denis Shapovalov 6: 3, 6: 4 in a seemingly tight game that lasted almost two hours. And in which Djokovic struck, as so often, in the crucial moments. /

So with the only break in the first round, when Shapovalov produced three double faults. Or at the end of the second sentence. Here Djokovic had lost a 40-0 at 3: 2, but made the break again in direct return. He turned a 0:30 when being served to win the match.

"The result may not show what kind of match it was. It was very close, almost two hours for two sets," said Djokovic. "He made a couple of double faults to make it 4-3 in the first set, slightly distorted with new balls. That made the difference."

Djokovic meets Daniil Medvedev in the semifinals, who had won in straight sets against Karen Khachanov in the day session.

Djokovic with support in Australia

Djokovic's start in Australia had been highly anticipated after there was major drama surrounding his entry last year . In Adelaide, however, he has received a warm welcome, especially from the many Serbian fans.

"It makes me proud, grateful," said Djokovic, who also appropriately classified a cheer. "Julie is a special fan," said Djoker, looking at the woman with the "NoleFam" poster. "She travels all over the world. Thanks Julie."

The prospect of the semifinals? "When you play against Daniil, you have to push your limits. Physically and in terms of the game itself," Djokovic knows. In a direct comparison with "Meddy" he leads 8:4 and has won the last three matches.

In the second semi-final, Sebastian Korda meets Yoshihito Nishioka.
