Novak Djokovic is back in Australia form! The nine-time winner at the Australian Open is in the semifinals of the ATP tournament in Adelaide without losing a set. After a two-set win against Denis Shapovalov , which seemed closer than the result (6:3, 6:4) suggested. But it also showed that Djokovic is the best tennis player of the moment in the crucial phase.
In the semi-finals the next endurance test - against Daniil Medvedev. He was just as unassailable these days and is now measuring himself against someone "who quite likes to play in Australia," Medvedev alluded to the Djoker's nine major victories in Melbourne.
Djokovic had last won in Melbourne in the years 2019 to 2021, in 2022 he was not allowed to compete "Down Under" due to the corona vaccination problem after a long back and forth (and a court decision).

Djokovic was just as respectful. "When you play against Daniil you have to push yourself to the limit, physically and in terms of the game itself," said the 35-year-old.
In a direct comparison between the two, it is 8: 4 for Djokovic, who also won the last three games against Medvedev. Most recently at the ATP Finals, with a win in the third set tiebreak.
