Here is the match to read in the live ticker.

The grandstands were full on Tuesday afternoon in Mauthausen, and not just when tournament favorite Dominic Thiem made his first appearance. But of course hardly a spectator left his seat while the 2020 US Open champion had to deal with the Burgenland teenager Matthias Ujvardy. Ujvardy had earned his place in the main draw with two confident victories, but had to admit defeat to Thiem 4: 6 and 2: 6.

In the first set, Thiem handed the break to make it 2-1, the 29-year-old from Lichtenwörther did not allow any chances of a comeback. In the second set, Ujvardy had a break chance to make it 2-0, but Thiem parried it. And a few moments later it struck again. Thiem then made the final decision with the break to 5: 2.

Thiem now against Delbonis

In the next match, Dominic Thiem is up against an old friend: Federico Delbonis. Thiem has won all three previous matches against the Argentine, the last meeting was in Gstaad last summer.

With this win, Thiem is the sixth Austrian to make it to the round of 16 at Mauthausen. Gerald Melzer and Filip Misolic had already qualified for the second round on Monday, followed by Sandro Kopp, Dennis Novak and Sebastian Ofner on Tuesday.
