Gael Monfils is in the semi-finals in Doha

In 2018, Gael Monfils celebrated one of his twelve tournament victories to date in Doha. In the current edition, the Frenchman is still two wins short of a Da Capo. Monfils defeated his compatriot Ugo Humbert surprisingly clearly 6:2 and 6:4 in the last quarter-final of the 250 and will therefore face the 18-year-old Czech Jakub Mensik in the semi-finals tomorrow, who lost the previous match against tournament favorite Andrey Rublev 6: 4 and 7:6 (6) knocked out of the tournament .

The superiority in the French duel with Humbert was all the more astonishing as Gael Monfils had to go the full distance against Zhizhen Zhang yesterday and only won in the tiebreak of the third set.

The second place in the final will be played between Karen Khachanov and Alexei Popyin. Khachanov benefited from Emil Ruusuvuori's surrender, Popyrin beat Alexander Bublik 6:4 and 6:4.

In doubles, Andreas Mies reached the semi-finals alongside John-Patrick Smith. The two slipped into the table as alternates and will meet the two Italians Lorenzo Musetti and Lorenzo Sonego in the semi-finals.
