Andrey Rublev is in the quarter-finals in Dubai

Andrey Rublev is tirelessly continuing his impressive winning streak at the ATP 500 level. The Russian is also in the quarter-finals at the event in the United Arab Emirates, in Dubai, and won 6: 3 and 6: 1 against the American Taylor Fritz on Wednesday evening in European time. In the round of the last eight, the 23-year-old now faces Marton Fucsovics, who confirmed his current top form.

The man from Hungary was the number eight of the ATP 500 event in Doha, the Serbs Dusan Lajovic, in three contested sets from the tournament on Wednesday. Most recently, the world number 44. reached the final in a tournament of the same category in Rotterdam. And how should it be otherwise these days, Andrey Rublev failed there.

Nishikori with an extremely strong service

The Japanese Kei Nishikori also has a rising form curve: The former top 10 player had to contend with an injury last year and was looking for a form, but now seems to have found it. Against Aljaz Bedene, Nishikori presented himself almost inviolable in the Dubai round of 16, especially when serving on his own, only surrendered two points in round one and thus bought the ticket for the quarter-finals.

In this, the Japanese is now waiting for the winner of the last 16 duel between Thiem conqueror Lloyd Harris and the Serb Filip Krajinovic. Denis Shapovalov, Jeremy Chardy, Aslan Karatsev and Jannik Sinner already secured their quarter-finals early on Wednesday afternoon. The latter had to work overtime - but still got the upper hand in a thriller from a tennis match against Roberto Bautista Agut.
