Overall, Thiem had more power in his blows than the world number 115. from Lima, the forehand with decent spin, the backhand again and again as a board along the line. He came to a relaxed 5:2 with a double break. But then it got tight again when he lost the thread a bit, gave up a break and had a break chance against himself at 5: 4 - here you could rely on the serve (ace, service winner, ace). /

In the second set there was initially meager fare on both sides, but Thiem then regained security. And finally managed the second break here too, this time to 4:1. At 5: 2, Thiem missed serving again, missed a lot (new balls, from Gstaad). But he broke again into the match, with a backhand board right into the corner.
