Kyrgios easily beat Pablo Carreno Busta 6: 4, 6: 2 on Friday afternoon and is thus in the semifinals in his first appearance at the 500 tournament in Halle.

Kyrgios, who had already defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas on Wednesday, didn't allow anything against Carreno Busta: he only gave up seven points in his service games, in the end also because of one or the other gimmick. He could actually afford it: Carreno Busta didn't get a break chance to seven Kyrgios, of which he used four. All in all, a sovereign and scandal-free performance by the Australian, who of course brought along one or the other fun action - volley through the legs, ace from below. /

Kyrgios and the lawn - that fits

Kyrgios recently left out the entire clay court season, but he takes everything with him on grass. Last week he also reached the semi-finals at the ATP tournament in Stuttgart, where he lost to Andy Murray on a mental level .

He now meets the winner of the game between Felix Auger-Aliassime and Hubert Hurkacz.

Oscar Otte and the top seeded Daniil Medvedev had already reached the semi-finals. Otte beat Karen Khachanov in three rounds , continuing his great form of the last few months -- starting Monday he will be in the top 40 for the first time in his career .

Oscar Otte is now playing against Daniil Medvedev

His opponent in the semifinals is Danill Medvedev: The world number one beat Roberto Bautista Agut 6: 2 and 6: 4, but had to fight: "RBA" had nine break chances, but Medvedev fended them all off and celebrated his first win in four Compare.

Medvedev showed great respect for Otte. "He's a great player - great serve, great serve and volley. It won't be easy. I have to prepare well and show my best tennis if I want to win," said Medvedev .

During the course of this week, they warmed up together twice and trained together once, the set had to be decided in the tie-break, he revealed. "So we've started to get to know each other better and it's really fun that we're going to play each other tomorrow. Because when you train a lot with a player, it's fun to see him later in the tournament. But tomorrow we definitely won't be friends be!"
