Zverev won against Nishikori with a surprisingly smooth 6: 3 and 6: 2 and is thus in the round of the last 16. /

Zverev showed a strong and concentrated performance from start to finish. Even if Nishikori kept coming back to Zverev's service games and made the first break of the game, it should remain his only one. Zverev, on the other hand, broke the serve of the former world number four four times.

At the end of the day, Zverev had 24 winners, with 15 manageable mistakes without need.

Zverev meets the winner of the match between John Millman and Dan Evans in the round of 16.

"I am very satisfied, he is a former finalist here," Zverev should acknowledge his opponent. "It was a good match on my part."

Madrid and Rome are probably his favorite clay court tournaments, "I have a lot of self-confidence here," Zverev continued.
