It took a whopping 25 minutes for Alexander Zverev to win the first set 6: 2, the second took a few more moments to say about the winner of the fourth Wednesday game on the largest court in the Paris-Bercy hall at no point in time no doubt. After 55 minutes, Zverev left the field as the undisputed winner with a 6: 2 and 6: 2.

The US Open finalist dictated the pace from the start, Kecmanovic seemed overwhelmed by the German's pace. And had next to no chance as a setback. Not like at the only meeting so far in the summer of 2019 in Cincinnati, when Zverev gave the Serb a three-set win with double errors en masse. There was no talk of that in Paris, the favorite didn't allow Kecmanovic to break a single chance. As a setback, Zverev also scored almost at will: The early break in the first set made it 1-0, in the second round it made it 2-1.

Zverev on a collision course with Rublev

In the round of 16 on Thursday, Alexander Zverev will deal with an old friend: The Hamburg native has only played against Mannarino four times. Two of these encounters took place after the Corona break: first at the US Open, then again at the second ATP Tour 250 tournament in Cologne. Zverev has always left the court as the winner.

Should this also be the case in the fifth duel, Zverev could meet Andrey Rublev in the quarter-finals, who has already won five tournaments this year. One round later, according to the seeding list, tournament favorite Rafael Nadal would wait.
