ATP: Mobile phone ban at Nadal's wedding in Mallorca

Spaniard Rafael Nadal married his longtime partner Xisca Perello on Saturday afternoon. According to Spanish media reports, around 350 invited guests were present when the couple at the noble fortress Sa Fortaleza on Nadal's home island of Mallorca, the yes-word.

The 125-million-euro property was Nadal shielded from the public, most of the guests had their cell phones at the entrance to the access road to the fortress. There were photographers who spotted Spain's old king Juan Carlos I and numerous Spanish tennis pros like Feliciano Lopez, Marc Lopez and David Ferrer.

Also invited were Portugal's star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and NBA basketball player Pau Gasol, who could not appear because of upcoming matches their clubs. Together with Nadal the duo leads a restaurant. Even Nadal's close friend Roger Federer had canceled his participation in the wedding at short notice in order to prepare for his home tournament starting in Basel on Monday.

Dream couple from Manacor

Nadal and two years younger Perello have been together for 14 years. At Nadal's first French Open victory in 2005, the trained business management graduate Perello first appeared publicly on the side of the 19-time Grand Slam winner. She comes from Nadal Manacor and went to school with his younger sister Maribel.
