With the US Open victory, Carlos Alcaraz has also taken over the top of the men's world rankings - at the age of 19 he is the youngest player so far. And: As a player with the fewest points according to the current world ranking system.

Alcaraz has 6,740 points, so few have never been enough for the top according to the system since 2009. At that time, the points for victories in majors and masters tournaments were doubled. For comparison: Novak Djokovic has had the most points since then with 16,950 points. Alcaraz is now number 1 with more than 10,000 points less.

However, this number has to be given an asterisk: no points were awarded at Wimbledon this year. The Masters tournament in Shanghai was also not held last fall and was not replaced on an equal footing. There were correspondingly fewer points to be won. /

Alcaraz, however, can still score a few points this fall because he doesn't have too much to defend from 2021 here.

Casper Ruud is the new number 2

Casper Ruud is behind Alcaraz (5,850 points), he is also higher than ever before. Rafael Nadal (5,810 points), Daniil Medvedev (5,065 points) and Alexander Zverev (5,040 points) follow.

Novak Djokovic is seventh (3,570 points) - of course he loses a lot of points due to the missing Australian Open and US Open (he went away empty-handed for his Wimbledo victory).

Semi-finalist Karen Khachanov has her as world number 18. played in the top 20, as did Frances Tiafoe as number 19.

Oscar Otte , last year's round of 16 and this time with the end in round 1, loses 11 places and is number 52. Daniel Altmaier is listed in 96th place.

For Austria, Dennis Novak is number 1 in position 136, followed by Jurij Rodionov (137th), Filip Misolic (145th), Gerald Melzer (190th), Sebastian Ofner (209th) and Dominic Thiem (216th).

The best Swiss is Marc-Andrea Huesler in 87th place.
