Next setback for Juan Martin del Potro : As the Argentine media report, the 31-year-old will not be able to participate in the Australian Open . The reason for this is the knee injury that forced the 2009 US Open winner to retire at the Queen's Club in London and then undergo surgery. Since then del Potro has not been able to play a match on the ATP tour.
For the organizers of the Australian Open, canceling del Potros is the next bad news. Andy Murray , Kei Nishikori, Lucas Pouille, Monica Puig and Vera Zvonareva had previously withdrawn for the first Grand Slam event of the year.
