"If it really is, then it really scratches its credibility," said Rittner (47) and further criticized Zverev: "I see no feeling for responsibility or his role model function."

Zverev was exuberantly appearing in a video by fashion designer Philipp Plein, the corresponding scenes have since been deleted - but can of course still be found online. Zverev's management initially did not respond to a SID request on Monday, including the location and time of the video recording.

At least two Instagram accounts had documented the party with Zverev. In an initial reaction, the Australian Nick Kyrgios accused the native of Hamburg of selfishness. "I'm not a Kyrgios fan," said Rittner, "but he's probably right there".

ATP lock for Alexander Zverev?

After the controversial Adriatic tour, which had been broken off after several Corona cases, including co-organizer Novak Djokovic, Zverev had declared that he would go into isolation. His corona test was negative. If he celebrated Monte Carlo despite his announcement in the Anjuna Plage Private Club near his adopted home, Rittner demands consequences: "Then the ATP should think about blocking him."

Initially, however, Zverev (23) is scheduled for the invitation tournaments in Berlin, in the Steffi Graf Stadium (July 13th to 15th) and at Tempelhof Airfield (July 17th to 19th). There should even be played in front of spectators. "We have to show how it works, the whole tennis world will look at us," said Rittner: "Everyone must be aware of their responsibility and their role model function."
