Because Becker now has another 12 years through his bankruptcy. This was announced by the state insolvency authority in London.

The reason is that Becker did not disclose all its assets - at least 4.5 million pounds (about 5.2 million euros). He would have been obliged to do so. /

"Bankruptcy restrictions are usually lifted after a year but, owing to the nature of Boris Becker’s actions, the Official Receiver pursued extended restrictions to prevent Mr Becker causing further harm to his creditors," the statement said. Bankruptcy lawyer Anthony Hannon is quoted as saying, "Bankrupts have a duty to fully cooperate with their trustee and where this has been frustrated, a bankruptcy restriction undertaking of commensurate length must reflect that conduct.”

The bankruptcy office should now have agreed with Becker on an extension to 16 October 2031.

Becker had said that he had never been broke

Becker was declared bankrupt on 21 June 2017 by the London High Court. The reason was the demand of an English bank. Accordingly, Becker should have borrowed 2,1 million euros from a British billionaire - with an interest rate of 25 percent. The bank had taken over the promissory note. In the course of this, more creditors had reported. In the summer of 2017, demand from Becker's former business partner Hans-Dieter Cleven was also public, amounting to 36.5 million euros.

Many of Becker's tennis trophies were also auctioned.

Even a month ago, Becker himself had spoken in an interview with the Bild am Sonntag about having everything soon behind him. The speech was here from a maximum of 18 months. Becker had also made it clear: "I've never been bankrupt, I have income and I can live on it."

Most recently Becker had attracted attention with a commercial for Saturn. In addition, he should be in connection with the construction of an international tennis center near Frankfurt - with the largest tennis hall in the world.
