Because Thiem seems to be starting in Wimbledon after all. This is reported by heute.at . Accordingly, Thiem would interrupt his current training block in a week and meet with his team to prepare for grass. Nicolas Massu and Jez Green should also be there again.

Thiem is currently training at his father's academy in Traiskirchen, he had actually planned to return to the tour for the sand tournament in Bastad.

The first-round prize money of 56,000 euros is said to be a point for the change of heart - and his sponsors, who want to see Thiem at the big tournaments.

The fact that Thiem would forgo Wimbledon as planned had already been questioned last week: the All England Club had published the registration list here - with Thiem.

Thiem comeback so far without success

Thiem made his comeback on the tour in Marbella at the end of March after his protracted wrist injury and a few postponements. A match victory is still pending after seven unsuccessful games. At the French Open, Thiem lost right at the start after a poor performance.

Thiem showed many problems on the forehand side in particular, played too little from the wrist here. A tight training program should help you regain your old strength.
