Dominic Thiem will hardly be able to complain about too much tennis in the coming weeks. As it became known, the third in the world rankings also takes part in the show tournament "Ultimate Tennis Showdown" in the Academy of Patrick Mouratoglou.
From June 13th, alongside Thiem, duels in Nice will also see Stefanos Tsitsipas, David Goffin, Lucas Pouille, Benoit Paire, Richard Gasquet, Matteo Berrettini, youngsters Alexei Popyrin and Dustin Brown. Felix Auger-Aliassime had to cancel his participation due to injury.
On five weekends, starting on this, there will be a total of ten matches on Saturday and Sunday. After the group stage, the top two are qualified for the semi-finals, places three to six are two quarter-finals. These finals (i.e. both quarter-finals, both semi-finals and the final) should take place on the very last day of the UTS.

The ultimate goal of the Ultimate Tennis Showdown is to win new, younger fans for tennis. the games are played in a shorter format, the rules of conduct of the ATP and ITF are relaxed, coaching is allowed, the audience should be involved in the action. The games do not last longer than an hour, divided into 12-minute quarters with a break of two minutes with each change of sides - if there is a tie, a tie-break is needed.
