# 5: Julia Görges - Alison Riske, 1 round: 6: 3, 6: 7 (4), 6: 1

Yeah, we know it wasn't a match for eternity. Nevertheless, we will keep it in good memory, because it was Julia Görges' last win as a professional tennis player. Shortly after the French Open, Görges surprised everyone by announcing the end of her career. In Paris, however, round 2 was over, against Laura Siegemund in three sets. For her part, she fought her way through to the quarter-finals and thus celebrated her best result in individual at a Grand Slam tournament. /

# 4: Martina Trevisan - Maria Sakkari, 3rd round: 1: 6, 7: 6 (6), 6: 3

Martina Trevisan - she was one of the big surprises at the 2020 French Open. The Italian had only traveled to Paris as number 159 in the world, played her way through the qualification there and defeated prominent victims in the main draw: Camila Giorgi, Cori Gauff, Maria Sakkari and Kiki Bertens. The match against Sakkari in particular was a battle, the Greek had two match points in the tie-break of the second set after Trevisan failed to use a 5-2 lead and two set balls. But the 26-year-old fought and won in extra time before the quarter-finals against eventual winner Iga Swiatek ended.

# 3: Iga Swiatek - Simona Halep, round of 16: 6: 1, 6: 2

It was the bang! Halep had traveled to Paris as the tournament favorite and had so far convinced Amanda Anisimova in round 3 with 6: 0, 6: 1. Iga Swiatek, however, did not give it much, pushed 30 winners past Halep. Crazy: In the previous year she lost against Halep with 1: 6, 0: 6. "I think a new star has risen here," said Barbara Rittner after the successful revenge - she was proved right.

# 2: Iga Swiatek - Sofia Kenin, final: 6: 4, 6: 1

A crazy endgame pairing! Kenin came to Paris as the reigning Australian Open winner, but had a 0: 6, 0: 6 against Victoria Azarenka in Rome. And Swiatek: Well, see above. But the Polish woman finally played the tournament of her life, only playing 28 games in seven matches in the end. And above all, one thing stayed until the end: damn cool! At the match point, she threw her umpteen forehand to the winner on the opposite side to her greatest victory.

# 1: Kiki Bertens - Sara Errani, 2nd round: 7: 6 (3), 3: 6, 9: 7

The Drama Match of the Tournament! As so often, Errani struggled with her serve and hit regularly from below from the end of the first set. Bertens, however, cramped in sentence 3, which Errani did not believe and she imitated several times. She did not like acting, the Italian said afterwards, after all Bertens ran into the rallies like a young deer. Bertens: Countered and pointed out that she would probably switch to the film business if she could act that well. In the end, after ten breaks in a row in the third set, Bertens won and was transported away in a wheelchair. While Errani shook the whole complex with her farewell curse.
