Generali Austrian Pro Series: Moritz Thiem eliminated without victory - 2nd group phase is certain
Philipp Oswald secured second place in Group D of the Generali Austrian Pro Series on Tuesday. The double specialist defeated Moritz Thiem 6: 3, 6: 1 and ensured that the latter was eliminated without success. Meanwhile, the second group stage has been drawn - there will be a craze on Wednesday.

Moritz Thiem occupies 4th place in Group D with a ratio of 0: 6 and plays for 7th place in the 1st group phase against Sam Weissborn on Wednesday. This in turn caused a big surprise on Tuesday when he defeated Dennis Novak after a deficit.
Oswald is second in the second group phase and faces Alex Erler in the fight for third place in the first group phase.
In the last game of the day, David Pichler beat Lenny Hampel 7: 6 (3), 6: 2. Hampel led with a break in both sets, but Pichler fought back and played a strong tie break especially in the first set. However, both move up to the second group phase as group thirds and are still represented in the tournament.
