Jannik Sinner: Where does his path on sand lead?

Jannik Sinner is known to be a rather quiet representative of his sport. The success against Nick Kyrgios at the ATP Masters in Miami is a symbol: while the Australian is beside himself, quarrels with the referee and gets a whole service game counted, Sinner stays calm and plays the round of 16 with confidence.

But of course - the tennis scene is currently looking primarily at Carlos Alcaraz. Who else? What the 18-year-old Spaniard is showing us at the moment is simply impressive. Quite a few would have liked to see a quarter-final in Monte-Carlo between him and Novak Djokovic. But because of the Serb's defeat , that won't happen.

Sinner in the quarterfinals against Zverev?

In the shadow of Carlos Alcaraz, the Italian is currently not quite as effective as he might have deserved. Because his individual record speaks for itself: If you add the Davis Cup from 2021, we see a record of 20:3 to date. He only lost to Tsitsipas at the Australian Open and Hurkacz in Dubai. He could not compete against Kyrgios in Indian Wells. And against Cerundolo he had to give up in Miami with a score of 1: 4 in the first set. As I said – despite the good balance sheet, things are not going completely smoothly.

In Monte-Carlo there could be a quarter-final between Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev - with both having to master difficult rounds beforehand.
