Carla Suarez Navarro wants to return to the tennis court one more time

It was shock news that shook the tennis scene in September: Carla Suarez Navarro announced that she had been diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma, a malignant tumor of the lymphatic system. "I wasn't afraid because they told me it was very curable because it was recognized in time," said the Spaniards back then.

Fortunately, the hopes of the 32-year-olds should be confirmed: As Suarez Navarro announced via the short message service Twitter, she completed her last chemotherapy session on Monday.

After the cancer treatment, the former number six in the world even wants to play competitive tennis again this summer. "I would like to play a Grand Slam tournament in the second part of the season. And see if I qualify for the Olympic Games," said the Spaniard, who actually ended her career at the end of last year.

Meanwhile, Suarez Navarro is already toiling for her comeback, as training pictures from December show - and the 32-year-old with the big fighter heart will certainly not be satisfied with the role of the sparring partner.
