Olympia in Tokyo: Osaka doesn't want to stress

Naomi Osaka does not want to expose herself to too much pressure before the Olympic Games in Tokyo. "I don't want to think about it too much because I feel like I'm analyzing too much and putting myself under stress," said the Japanese on Sunday, one day after her triumph at the Australian Open.

And further: "There is still a long way to go." On Saturday, the 23-year-old won the title for the second time in Melbourne with a 6: 4, 6: 3 win over Jennifer Brady (USA). The hopes of their compatriots for a triumph at the Summer Games from July 23rd to August 8th are high.

"Everyone knows that the Olympics are a really big thing for me," said Osaka: "It would be my first games." For them, it would be a dream to start in Tokyo - if the world event takes place in the corona pandemic.

Osaka won their fourth Grand Slam title in Melbourne. It will possibly be used again in Dubai, but probably only in Miami.
