Petra Kvitova , the winner of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix 2019, wants to defend her title in Stuttgart. The two-time Wimbledon champion from the Czech Republic has already registered for the 43rd edition of the traditional tournament, which will be held from 18 to 26 April 2020 in the Porsche Arena. With Simona Halep (Romania), Elina Svitolina (Ukraine) and Belinda Bencic (Switzerland) at least three other players from the top 10 of the WTA World Ranking List will be playing in Stuttgart.

"Of course, four players from the top 10 have decided in favor of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix at this early stage, including the defending champion," says tournament director Markus Günthardt, "I'm more than confident that even more top stars will be added and we can once again present our audience an absolute world-class field. "

All four players were last at the WTA Finals in the Chinese Shenzhen at the start, for which they had qualified over the "Porsche Race to Shenzhen". Elina Svitolina, currently No. 6 in the WTA World Ranking, was once again in the final of the prestigious tournament she won last year. Simona Halep (# 4) celebrated her second Grand Slam victory at Wimbledon this year after the French Open in 2018.

Petra Kvitova's biggest win (# 7) alongside her 2011 and 2014 Wimbledon victories and winning the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix are the five Fed Cup titles she won with the Czech team between 2011 and 2016. Belinda Bencic (# 8) made a sensational comeback this season. She won the WTA tournament in Dubai and managed with her tournament victory in Moscow almost at the last second qualification for the WTA Finals, where she reached the semi-finals with a strong performance.
