"I don't put any pressure on myself and take my time," explained Federer to Schweizer Illustrierte . "I will only intervene in the tournament when I am one hundred percent fit."

At the moment it looks like it should work with the Australian Open in Melbourne. However, he cannot train normally at the moment. "More than two hours with the racket are not possible at the moment," revealed the Swiss. "But I've been working on my stamina and strength absolutely painlessly for a while. There won't be any further operations."

According to Federer, he still has no exact retirement date in mind, even if these thoughts have been on his mind for about five years. He wanted to play as long as he enjoyed it. "Then I will focus on my family, my foundation and my sponsors," said the 20-time Grand Slam winner. "I'm very interested in business ideas and entrepreneurship. But I definitely don't want to plan everything now."
