In a duel between two former French Open winners, Halep won against Garbine Muguruza 6: 3, 4: 6 and 6: 4.

Muguruza, slightly damaged on the left thigh, converted a 2: 4 deficit in set two to equalize the set, also in set three she showed again fighting qualities at 1: 5 and came up to 4: 5 and her own serve. Halep then broke to win the match, a double mistake from Muguruza helped her at match point.

After her victory at the tournament in Prague, Halep has been unbeaten since the Corona break. Before that, she had already won in Dubai, thus maintaining a winning streak of 13 matches.

Halep is now waiting for the winner of the second semi-final between the seeded Karolina Pliskova and Marketa Vondrousova.
