Hundreds of fans signed up within a very short time to challenge the 22-year-old or to get to know him better. One follower wanted to know what rituals he would use to prepare for matches. "I ask the Greek gods for help," said Tsitsipas. What goals has he set for 2021? "Ivo Karlovic breaks, twice." The Croatian generally seems to be in the back of the mind. When asked who had the best one-handed backhand on the tour, he simply said: "Ivo Karlovic. He almost never shoots."
Another fan wanted to know what advice he thinks is particularly important. "Be stubborn about your goals," replied Tsitsipas. "And be flexible about the methods."
Tsitsipas revealed that the Golden Retriever is his favorite dog, that he is keeping his fingers crossed for Liverpool FC in the Premier League, that he has 33 Wimbledon towels at home and that Single Ladies is his favorite Beyonce song.
But Tsitsipas also has an answer to the very big questions of mankind. He never uses shampoo, only conditioner. Which came first, the hen or the egg? Tsitsipas: "First there was the egg. And that was what a hen hatched." And: Tsitsipas thinks that if everyone buys a Tesla, the climate crisis could soon be overcome.
Tsitsipas is currently number six in the ATP world rankings. He starts his tennis season in 2021 at the ATP Cup, where he will compete with brother Petros and Michail Pervolarakis and Markos Kalovelonis. The draw will be held on January 20th. And by the way: Tsitsipas' favorite ingredient on a pizza is not the pineapple.
