The "2020 US Open Wheelchair Tennis Competition" is scheduled to take place from September 10th to 13th. This was announced by the US association. As always, the competitions in men's and women's wheelchair tennis should take place in single and double, as well as in quad.

This decision was made after several online conferences by some wheelchair tennis players and the ITF.

The wheelchair events are to be subject to the same corona conditions as the other competitions, and the athletes should have access to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center from September 7th.

Murray, Federer and Co. have campaigned

Andy Murray in particular received special thanks from some athletes, including from Australian Dylan Alcott , who had sharply criticized the original cancellation. Murray led the group that had worked internationally to host the wheelchair competitions, along with Roger Federer and some other top 20 players on the women's and men's tour. "Having the support of the best in the world is great," Alcott wrote on Twitter.

Briton Gordon Reid also thanked Murray in a video interview.
