"This is a joke" - Dominic Thiem upset about Serena Williams and ITF

"This is a joke." With these words, Dominic Thiem responded to the message that due to Serena Williams' press conference, he would have to change the PK room. The Austrian would have had every reason to be happy after his third round victory over Pablo Cuevas.

Dominic Thiem is reportedly an extremely polite, respectful and popular player on the ATP tour. Frenzy can only be seen in the 25-year-old Austrian when he smashes a racket in rage and under high tension. Away from the square, Thiem always reacts prudently and the Lichtenwörther is also the calm itself in press conferences.

After winning the French Open third round match against Pablo Cuevas, even Thiem got too much. The fourth in the world rankings had to leave the large interview room during his press conference.

The reason? After leaving Sofia Kenin , Serena Williams was in a hurry to address her final words to the journalists. The ITF complied with the request of the 23-time individual Grand Slam winner.

Thiem was annoyed: "I'm not a junior anymore," said the Austrian, who then made his way to the smaller PK room two. Apparently the Austrian changed his mind. "What the hell, that's a joke. I'll go then too. I can do what I want," said the last year's finalist and left the press center.

Since Thiem was already in the German-speaking part of the press conference, Williams would have only had to wait a few minutes anyway. After the unfortunate incident, tournament director Guy Forget is said to have already apologized to Dominic Thiem - so that he can fully concentrate on his round of 16 match against Gael Monfils.
