On the one hand, Novak Djokovic is listed - despite all the ambiguity about his entry option. Although the USTA has made it clear that it does not prescribe any corona vaccination requirements, entering the USA itself does require one.

Djokovic is still hoping for a change in this regard, as he recently revealed . But he also said: If I have permission, I will be there. If I don't have one, then no. Then it's not the end of the world."

So he will remain reported until there is clarity. /

In any case, the notification for the US Open is automatic: all qualified players are listed based on this week's world rankings, unless they specifically cancel. Alexander Zverev also has high hopes of a comeback in New York after tearing his ligament at the French Open. At the top are Dannil Medvedev, Zverev and Rafael Nadal.

Somewhat surprising: Dominic Thiem's name is missing. He is the world number 274. not automatically in the main draw, of course, but could have used his protected ranking. Apparently Thiem didn't do that. The probable reason: Thiem should have been promised a wildcard by the organizer - as a winner in 2020 that would not be a sensation.

Oscar Otte, Daniel Altmaier and Peter Gojowczyk are in the main draw on the German side.

Stan Wawrinka claims his protected ranking.

Tatjana Maria and Jule Niemeier have to hope for cancellations

For the women, Iga Swiatek and Anett Kontaveit are listed at the top, while Serena Williams has made use of her special ranking and is right in the main field. Just like returnee Taylor Townsend after her baby break. And: Laura Siegemund. Angelique Kerber and Andrea Petkovic are also in the main draw.

The German Wimbledon surprise Tatjana Maria is world number 100. exactly one place outside, colleague Jule Niemeier as world number 102. almost three places. As a rule, however, cancellations follow in the coming weeks, so that the two have a good chance of a place in the main field and could save themselves the qualification.
