"Kohli" made a small wobble in his opening match for the Wimbledon qualification against Gregoire Barrere, but the German old master should immediately equalize the break deficit and a little later make the ultimately safe 6: 2 and 6: 2 success perfect. In round two we now face Mikhail Kukushkin.

However, this success has a pale aftertaste: As Philipp Kohlschreiber explained after his victory, the German will end his professional career after Wimbledon. "It will be my last tournament, I will stop after Wimbledon. I hope I can make it into the main draw," said Kohlschreiber after his success.

Philipp Kohlschreiber has won eight titles on the ATP tour in his career, the largest of them at the ATP 500 event in HalleWestfalen. The 38-year-old reached his career best in 16th place in the world rankings. Currently, "Kohli" is only in 230th place.
