"I would like to coach him. He is a player who is actually uncoachable - I would love that," said the 51-year-old before the US Open kicked off at Eurosport.
Becker sees the lack of discipline as the biggest challenge in the world ranking 30th: "It is the job of the trainer to convey that it is worth it. You can live by winning - even more than before."
Kyrgios had shown his bad side again just two weeks ago: he had a dispute with the chair umpire, spat in his direction, destroyed two rackets and threw spectators with his shoes. Kyrgios was then fined $ 113,000 by the ATP.
At the start of the last Grand Slam tournament of the year, Kyrgios will face local hero Steve Johnson in the first round.
