WTA Adelaide: Strong Iga Swiatek wins title against Bencic
Iga Swiatek won the WTA tournament in Adelaide, Australia.

After an impressive performance, Swiatek won 6: 2, 6: 2 and thus secured her second title on the tour - the first she celebrated last year with the completely surprising triumph in Roland Garros .
In the Adelaide final against Bencic, Swiatek fired 22 winners on the other side, only making 6 mistakes without need - strong! She will take her new career high on Monday in 15th place in the new world rankings.
Papa Swiatek "almost a celebrity"
"Talking is the hardest part for me," said Swiatek, apologizing at the award ceremony. In addition to the usual words of thanks in English, she also gave a few words in Polish to the audience. Special thanks also went to Papa Swiatek, "he's now something of a celebrity."
The 19-year-old had talked about the new kind of pressure at the beginning of the year after the sensational victory in Paris in 2020. It seems she can handle it wonderfully.
