Bogdan had lost her first round match against Yastresmka on Tuesday evening - 6:3, 6:7 (7), 6:7 (7) it was the end result; she was unable to use two match points, one in the second set and one in the third set. /

And yet this seemed almost irrelevant to Bogdan. "This was the toughest match I've ever played in terms of feeling and holding back emotions," Bogan wrote in an Instagram story.

Background: Dayana Yastremska fled Ukraine at the end of last week , her parents wanted her and her 15-year-old sister to be safe. The 21-year-old came to Lyon via Romania and Hungary, where she received a wild card, as well as one with her sister for the doubles competition.

After her victory - with her fourth match point - Yastremska sank to her knees, stood at the net for a long time with Bogdan, the two hugged and talked. Yastremska ended up taking a flag of Ukraine, which she had placed next to her bench during the match, and wrapped it around herself.

"I had to fight because it's a competition," wrote Bogdan. "But somehow I knew it wasn't fair."

"May we all live in peace"

"May God protect you, your sister, your family and all the other people. May we all live in peace," Bogdan ended her story.

And in a post she apologized for cheering herself on too loud at times after winning points.

Yastremska meets Cristina Bucsa in the second round in Lyon.

Tamara Korpatsch set a nice sign after the Yastremska/Bogdan match, wearing the colors of the Ukraine . Qualifier Korpatsch won her opening game against local hero Oceane Dodin 6:3, 1:6, 6:2.
