WTA San Jose: Daria Kasatkina wins fifth career title

Daria Kasatkina celebrated her fifth triumph on the WTA tour. In the final in San Jose, the twelfth in the world rankings beat the American Shelby Rogers 6:7 (2), 6:1 and 6:2 and thus pushed herself back into the top ten of the rankings.
The 25-year-old Russian won her last tournament to date in St. Petersburg last year. In San Jose, Kasatkina knocked out Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina on the way to the title.
Meanwhile, Liudmilla Samsonova won the WTA 250 tournament in Washington. In the final, the 23-year-old defeated Kaia Kanepi 4: 6, 6: 3 and 6: 3.
