Alexander Zverev will serve in doubles at the ATP Challenger event in Indian Wells next week. Zverev is starting with his brother Mischa - opponents in round 1 are Sebastian Korda (the son of ex-professional Petr Korda) and Mitchell Krueger.

And Zverev is not the only prominent starter: Jack Sock (with Michael Mmoh) and the long-injured Lucas Pouille (with Gregoire Barrere) are at the start, as well as the duo Jannik Sinner / Frances Tiafoe. /

Siegemund, Barthel and Haas are among the women

In detail, Zverev would not be allowed to start as a top 10 player. Reported here, however, among other Pouille, Sinner, Steve Johnson and Tiafoe. From a German point of view: Mischa Zverev and Peter Gojowczyk.

The ladies also play a 125k event in Indian Wells. Reported here, among others: Mona Barthel, Laura Siegemund and Barbara Haas .

The Masters tournament (men) or Premier Mandatory event (women) in Indian Wells starts on March 12th.

Zverev-Brothers already in Acapulco

Zverev was last in Acapulco this week, where he was eliminated in the round of 16. He had won 7: 6 (6), 6: 1 against Jason Jung at the start, but then lost to Tommy Paul 3: 6, 4: 6 in the round of 16. Again, he had a double appearance with Mischa Zverev, the two initially won 6: 3, 6: 3 against Jackson Withrow / Nicholas Monroe, but then lost in the quarterfinals against the French duo Adrian Mannarino / Fabrice Martin 1: 6, 4. 6

For Mischa Zverev, the individual is still about restoring the connection upwards. After a series of defeats in 2018/2019, he crashed to position 293 in the world and was last in the semifinals of the Challenger tournament in Cherbourg in early February. He is currently number 257 in the ranking.

In Acapulco he had received a wildcard, but lost to John Isner 3: 6, 6: 7 (4) at the start.
