Ashleigh Barty hits Tiger Woods - in the gulf

You only need to give Ashleigh Barty a racket and a ball - everything else runs by itself.

Pretty much everyone knows that Ashleigh Barty can handle the ball. In tennis, she won her first major title at the French Open in 2019 and ended the year as the world's number one. And when she needed a sporty break a few years ago and (of course successfully) took on cricket, compatriot Rennae Stubbs said the great sentence : "When it comes to hitting a ball with something, I wouldn't be surprised if Ashleigh Barty succeeded with it. "

Golf star Tiger Woods had to see that now. At a "Tee Shot Challenge" in Melbourne, where it was about to bend a golf ball over the Yarra River, Barty showed that the game of golf is anything but strange to her. While Woods' ball popped into the river just before the goal, Barty found the right length - and the green.

Woods was in Melbourne for the Presidents Cup, which started on Thursday - including Justin Thomas, Ricky Fowler and Gary Woodland.

For Barty, the streak of success continues at the end of the year: just a few days ago she was again awarded the "Newcombe Medal" in Melbourne, on Wednesday she won the WTA Award for Player of the Year .
