The big crash that Jurij Rodionov had in his quarter-finals against Alex de Minaur on Friday evening has probably not been entirely without consequences. The young Austrian had to give up in his first semi-final at an ATP Tour 250 tournament against Marin Cilic at a score of 3: 6 and 0: 1. Cilic will play against Félix Auger-Aliassime for the title at MercedesCup 2021 on Sunday.

The game was evenly balanced until the eighth game. Then Rodionov gambled away a 40:15 lead on his own serve, should not win any more game after that.

For Marin Cilic, the final is about his 19th title on the ATP tour. The US Open Champion from 2014 brought the last one to the grass in London's Queen's Club three years ago. Félix Auger-Aliassime is still waiting for his first triumph.
