Australian Open: Daniil Medvedev turns 0: 2 behind against Auger-Aliassime and is in the semifinals!
Daniil Medvedev (ATP No. 2) turned a 0-2 set deficit against Felix-Auger-Aliassime (ATP No. 9) and is in the semifinals of the Australian Open 2022.

Medvedev won after 4 hours and 42 playing times 6:7 (4), 3:6, 7:6 (2), 7:5 and 6:4 and was the last player to reach the semi-finals at the Australian Open. And that after a great performance in an excellent tennis match!
Medvedev started the game groaning, whether he had physical problems or just wanted to imitate Auger-Aliassime remained his secret - in the course of the match he turned it off anyway.
Auger-Aliassime also played the first two sets almost flawlessly, built up points a lot, occasionally annoyed by Medvedev's backhand along the line. The US Open champ made - for his standards - an unusual number of mistakes (14 in set 1, 11 in set 2), made unfavorable double errors (two in the tie-break of set 1). But he caught himself, came back into the match after a short break in the rain in the tie-break of the third set and managed to connect the set.
Auger-Aliassime has match point
In the fourth round, at 4:5 and 30:40 from Medvedev's point of view, Auger-Aliassime finally had match point, but Medvedev unpacked a perfect serve. And then made the break when Auger-Aliassime narrowly missed a forehand. After that, "Meddy" made up a 0:40, "FAA" missing another break ball when he played a pass ball right down Medvedev's run.
In the deciding set, Auger-Aliassime had three chances to break, but Medvedev parried again with strong serves and in return made the break to make it 2-1. Medvedev: "Felix played unbelievably"
"I have no idea," said the 25-year-old when asked how he turned the game around. His entire equipment with shirts and shoes was used up - "that's how this match was."
He himself did not play the best tennis, "and Felix played unbelievably, he was superior to me," said Medvedev, showing his 21-year-old opponent great respect.

Medvedev meets Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semi-finals, who had performed extremely well against Jannik Sinner in the first quarter-finals of the day .
What about his recovery process after the long fight? "It's a Grand Slam tournament! Even if I'm in the worst shape of my life, I'll fight for my life," announced Medvedev.
