Australian Open: Roger Federer is in the quarterfinals after short problems

Federer defeated Hungary's Marton Fucsovics 4: 6, 6: 1, 6: 2 and 6: 2, putting them back in the round of eight in Melbourne.

Federer commented on the aftermath of the Millman match. "The morning after and this morning I was in bed for about an hour and thought: When are we going to get up?"

In the quarterfinals, the six-time Melbourne winner now meets the American Tennys Sandgren, currently ranked 100th in the ATP world rankings, who prevailed against Fabio Fognini and his antics in four sets and for the second time after 2018 in the round of last eight stands. "I've never played against Tennys ... even though I've played a lot of tennis," quipped Federer.
If Federer wins, there could be a duel with Novak Djokovic in the semifinals. The defending champion had no problems in his round of 16 against Diego Schwartzman and won in three sets. He now plays against Milos Raonic, against whom he has won all nine games so far.
