In the morning there were two very confident games: Alex Erler won 6: 4, 7: 6 (4) against Sam Weissborn (who still made up a double break in the second round) and celebrated his first win in group C. Afterwards won Phillip Oswald against Max Neuchrist with 6: 4, 6: 2, so he got his first victory in group D.

After that, the AT trio was behind Dominic Thiem - and sometimes had to do hard work. Youngster Lukas Neumayer showed a great performance against Austria's number 2, Dennis Novak (ATP No. 85). The 17-year-old even sniffed a sensation when he came to a break chance at 4: 4 in the third set, but could not use it. In return, Novak came up with match balls in Neumayer's next service game - three more of which fended off, and Novak made the fourth clear. After two three-set wins, he is number 1 in group C.

Rodionov is 1: 4 behind

20-year-old Moritz Thiem also fought respectably against Sebastian Ofner (ATP No. 163), number 3 in Austria. After a quick first round, Thiem was in the second with a break in front; In the end, Ofner won 6: 1, 7: 5 and is in group D first with two wins from two matches.

To the bitter end, Jurij Rodionov (ATP No. 166) and Sandro Kopp fight in their placement game for groups A and B. The 20-year-old Kopp, "only" number 801 in the world, has had strong tennis all week offered and even got a set against Dominic Thiem , it also looked very good against Rodionov for a long time, Kopp already led 4: 1 in the third round before Rodionov finally 1: 6, 6: 4 and 7: 6 (4) won and secured 3rd place between groups A and B.
