Dennis Novak had to say goodbye early in Kitzbühel

Not a good start for the Austrian representatives at the Generali Open in Kitzbühel: After Lukas Neumayer's three-set defeat by Mario Vilella Martinez , Dennis Novak also had to say goodbye after round one - but the bankruptcy was much clearer than with his compatriot before.

Because Gianluca Mager only gave Novak a chance in the first set, but won this section 6: 4. This finally broke the will of the 27-year-old: After only 58 minutes of playing time, the Italian turned his first match point into a clear 6: 4 and 6: 0 success. Mager now meets Albert-Ramos Vinolas.

However, things went better for the German Daniel Altmaier. The Umag semi-finalist defeated Laslo Djere on Court Küchenmeister 4: 6, 6: 3 and 6: 3. In round two, the 22-year-old has to deal with Marco Cecchinato.
