What an end to the women's final in Miami! Danielle Collins was just two points away from the biggest triumph of her career at 7-5, 5-3 and 30-0, then Elena Rybakina won three points in a row. Collins fended off the break point, but then needed four match points to win her third title.

The American, who will end her career at the end of the season for health reasons, only had to give up a set in the first round. Against compatriot Bernarda Pera. In the final against Rybakina, Collins showed extremely strong nerves in front of André Agassi and only allowed one break. But she won Rybakina's serve three times.

With the victory in her home state, Danielle Collins will move up 31 positions in the WTA charts to number 22. Elena Rybakina, who failed in last year's final against Petra Kvitova, remains in fourth place.
