The tennis romantics would like to break up anyway. 20 - 20 - 20, it would not only be a fine end result from Adrian-Monk's point of view, but would also evaluate the "Big Three" in a different light. But good: Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic all have 20 Grand Slam tournaments on the credit side, but Novak Djokovic in particular does not seem to see the end of the flagpole here. And could pull away at his standard winning Grand Slam tournament in Melbourne if he had been vaccinated by then.
Roger Federer currently does not believe in a record that will last forever. He was recently asked in an interview with the British GQ whether such an era will be experienced again. And is in a positive mood about it. He doesn't want to take anything away from Nadal, Djokovic or himself, "but I think it's easier these days to dominate across the different surfaces." Although there used to be three grass tournaments at the majors, there weren't that many players who could play so well on all surfaces. And: The players apparently had different approaches. "You haven't chased one Grand Slam after the other, not one record after the next. Nowadays, such a strategy is part of your career."
Federer: New record "not overnight"
Federer's conclusion: "Yes, a new, unbelievable player will break our course with 20 Grand Slam tournament victories", the maestro assumes. However, he qualifies: "It won't happen overnight."
And Federer wouldn't be Federer if he didn't also have the 21st big title in mind. Even though it will be a tough undertaking: Federer recently had another knee operation and was still on crutches the weekend before last. And had announced that he would take the necessary time on his comeback .
