Federer officially announced his comeback on Tuesday: In Doha (March 8-13, 2021) it should be so far, said Federer in a radio interview with SRF. /

His plans afterwards: maybe another tournament afterwards, certainly another fitness and tennis block, probably a little tennis on clay - and then the big numbers around Wimbledon, the Olympic Games and the US Open. "I've been playing tennis for my life," said the 39-year-old about the main reason for his return. "And I would love to celebrate great victories again, for that I am ready to go a long, hard road."

Federer wants to start with ice hockey

Of course, the Swiss already has plans for life afterwards - some of them sporty ones. "I want to be able to go skiing with the kids and with Mirka. Or go hiking, play basketball or start ice hockey - I still have so many dreams. I need a good body for that, and I don't want to hit it against the wall," explained he continues . All of these sports that Federer only wanted to practice to a limited extent or not at all in order not to endanger his tennis career.

The time in rehab? Has Federer spent more tennis than he thought himself. He assumed that he would be more busy with his kids and rehab, "I was surprised that I kept checking results and watching matches. And I usually don't do that when I'm at a tournament do not participate. "

Federer has also accepted a new job - unpaid, of course: that of the chaffeur. He has "now taken on more of the role of the quarterback, I was the organizer". He knew exactly what all four children were doing and made sure that they weren't late anywhere. "I also became the family's driver." It now seems like someone else will have to come here from March ...
